DAY 1: ARRIVE IN HOBARTWelcome to “Van Diemen’s Land!” Schedule flights to arrive by 4 pm in time for a welcome meeting and drinks, featuring local Tasmanian wines and spirits.
DAY 2: HOBART. EXCURSION TO BRUNY ISLANDHOBART: Visit the famous Salamanca Market with a chance to meet artisans and taste fresh local produce. Time to explore on your own, grab a coffee, and do some shopping. Evening at leisure. BRUNY ISLAND: (LF) Enjoy a tasting tour of this rugged island that may include local specialties such as fresh oysters, cheeses, berries, and more. (B,L)
DAY 3: HOBART – MT FIELD NATIONAL PARK – LAKE ST CLAIR NATIONAL PARK – STRAHANMT FIELD NATIONAL PARK Sightseeing including the walk to Russell Falls. LAKE ST CLAIR NATIONAL PARK Visit the Wall in the Wilderness art project, sightseeing. STRAHAN Following dinner, the remainder of your evening is at leisure. (B,D)
DAY 4: STRAHAN – CRADLE MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARKSTRAHAN Scenic cruise on the Gordon River and into the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage area. CRADLE MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK Following dinner, the remainder of your evening is at leisure. (B,L,D) Accommodation Spotlight: Spend the next 2 nights at one of Australia’s iconic wilderness experiences. Located at the edge of the spectacular World Heritage listed Cradle Mountain National Park, at Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge, you’ll enjoy warm hospitality, local food and wine, breathtaking scenery and magnificent wilderness surrounds.
DAY 5: CRADLE MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARKCRADLE MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK Sightseeing including a visit to the majestic Dove Lake. Afternoon at leisure to enjoy more of the park on your own. This evening, enjoy a (LF) special behind-the-scenes visit to the Devils@Cradle to learn about this rescue centre devoted to saving the endangered Devils. (B)
DAY 6: CRADLE MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK – SHEFFIELD – LAUNCESTON – FREYCINET NATIONAL PARKSHEFFIELD Sightseeing to see the town’s famous murals, tasting and tour at a local honey factory. LAUNCESTON Guided walk through the scenic Cataract Gorge, tour and tasting at Josef Chromy Vineyard. FREYCINET NATIONAL PARK Evening at leisure following dinner at the resort. DAY 8: FREYCINET NATIONAL PARK – HOBARTHOBART Afternoon at leisure. Farewell dinner at a local restaurant featuring fresh seafood and local wines.
